From a description of depersonalization and derealization disorder, wherein the subject frequently suffers from the feeling that they or their surroundings are somehow not real, which can lead to significant distress and problems with work and relationships. Often occurs alongside other, better understood disorders, such as anxiety or depression. Like anxiety and depression, healthy people may sometimes experience fleeting moments of depersonalization or derealization, and it is not a sign of deeper problems.
